History of Halloween

In the dictionary, we can find the meaning of this word is "The eve of All Saints'Day". In China, we call it "Halloween Night". In fact, Halloween is a traditional festival for many Western countries. We can look back from More than 2,000 years ago. In the past, the Catholic Church in Europe made a circular to the world. They set the November 1 as the "ALL HALLOWS DAY". In the dictionary, the Hallow has the same meaning to the Saints. But in the legend, people who living in Ireland, Scotland and other places have put this festival advanced for a day. So, people who living in Britain have this festival on every October 31. People believe that the summer already passed and the New Year will coming in the harsh winter. They also believe that the soul of their friend and their ancestors will search for the reborn at this day. People afraid that the soul will come to find them and take their life to reborn. In order to avoid the soul, people close the window and turn off the light at that day. Even someone put on the mask and wear the mantle, they try to make themselves more terrible than the soul, then the soul will not come to find them. After a long time, the significance of Halloween have changed gradually. People forgot the fear and they have candy and happy in Halloween. People all wear mask and have lot of celebrate together.
